EiF Patch Notes 10/11/2022

Here are the notes for the patch released on 10/11/2022:

Heroic Instances

  • Rewrite to Exar Kun mechanics for testing. The instance is not yet available to players. (Halyn)
  • Tweaks to Smuggler Gunship for testing. The instance is not yet available to players. (Halyn)

World Bosses

  • Corrected issue with Endorian World Boss’s second fight mechanic (Demi)
  • Relocated one of the Rori World Boss’s spawn locations to prevent him from hiding behind ruins and causing line-of-sight issues (Demi)
  • Fixed issues with World Boss pet rewards (Halyn)

Smuggler

  • Guns, guns, and more guns. Added additional shotgun types for future content (Halyn)
  • Scattergun specials were feeling a bit underutilized. The following adjustments to scattergun specials have been made (Halyn)
    • Breach Shot
      • Accuracy Bonus Redecuded from 30 to 5
      • Cone reduced from 60 to 30
    • Choke Shot
      • Ability now targets the Health pool instead of a random pool
    • Gut Shot
      • Increased Accuracy Bonus from 5 to 15
      • Increased Cone from 15 to 30
      • Ability now targets a Random pool instead of the Health pool

Commando

  • Adjusted rotary cannon specials (Halyn)
  • Equipped rotary cannons now cause a player to move slower. Movement speed is not impacted while the weapon is holstered (Halyn)
  • Added the lightning gauntlet for future content. (Halyn)

Bounty Hunter

  • Added the lightning gauntlet for future content. (Halyn)

Pistoleer

Pistoleer was found to be over performing. The following changes have been implemented. (Halyn/Demi)

  • Multi-Target Pistol Shot
    • Increased base damage multiplier from 3.0 to 3.5
    • Decreased accuracy bonus from 30 to 5
    • Removed ranged damage multiplier
  • Stopping Shot
    • Reduced close-range damage range from 15m to 10m. Reduced bonus damage multiplier at this range from 2.0 to 1.25
    • Reduced mid-range damage range from 32m to 24m. Reduced bonus damage multiplier at this range from 1.75 to 1.1

Fixes

  • The /reload command now animates! (Halyn)
  • Stimpack droids now have a speed cap on healing (Halyn)
  • When harvesting lairs, rangers should now be able to harvest more eggs (Halyn)
  • Pets should now appropriately respond to player emotes (Halyn)
  • Rebel Marine Backpack no longer requires a faction to equip (Abi)
  • Lightsaber blade appearance is no longer affected by bloom (Halyn)

Content

  • Taanab world snapshot changes at Pandath and Hex Farms. (Mina)
  • Mandalorian armor crafting materials updated. (Halyn)
  • Faction recruiter vendor updates. (Abi)

SWGEmu

  • EiF is again up-to-date with SWGEmu unstable code, including the new position updates. Reflection of player positions should be far more accurate than in the past.

EiF Patch Notes 07/07/2022

Here are the notes for the patch released on 07/07/07.

Content

Empire Day 

  • Enabled Empire Day for 2022. Participate in four different activities:
    • Posters – Either put up or tear down propaganda posters for your faction. –Racing – race a speederbike across Endor.
    • PvE – attack or defend an Ewok village during a stormtrooper raid.
    • PvP – recover protocol droids with sensitive information from an Ewok village. Beware – the Ewoks will not like someone taking away their god.
  • Updated Empire Day vendors.

Character Skill Updates

Smuggler

  • The unused spice crafting line has been replaced by the scattergun line.
  • Newly-created smugglers will get an introductory CR-1 scattergun.
  • Scatterguns have five specials.
    • /chokeShot – A high damage, narrow cone attack.
    • /gutShot – a bleed cone attack.
    • /overheatShot – a fire cone attack.
    • /sweepShot – a broad, high-damage cone attack.
    • /breachShot – an attack to cause a defender to break armor.
    • All scatterguns use the dodge secondary defense type.

Commando

  • Commando disposable heavy weapons will now cause armor breaks against specific damage types.

Weaponsmith

  • Added CR-1 schematic to master weaponsmith.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed some general appearance issues with several wearables.
  • Disabled the tutorial due to occasional server crashes.
  • Updated the new player selectable planets to disable JtL selections.
  • Fixed player-to-player holocomm to accurately reflect player moods.
  • Fixed droid trap modules to be available to rangers again.
  • Adjusted maximum hitpoints of several types of armor. (Demiurge)
  • Fixed missing combat spam.
  • Merged upstream SWGEmu code.

Misc

  • Added scattergun schematics to the war fame vendors.

 

Friday Feature: Looking Back at Five Years of EiF

This week, Empire in Flames celebrated its fifth year with player-held festivities as well as the return of the annual Riddle Hunt. In today’s Friday Feature, we showcase some memories and learnings that members of the staff have shared from their years here at EiF.

 

What is one thing that you have learned since working on EiF?

Halyn: Players will always do the unexpected.

Mina: Scripting with LUA! It’s not something I had never dealt with previously. 

Abi: There’s a reason we don’t have hard release dates – the second you set one, real lie gets in the way and you end up delayed by six months (or more)

Anishor: My C++ is rusty.

Jeil: Save your work, and make back ups. >.>

Wefi: Halyn checks the files before putting them in. So no surprise Shrek. 

Kelta: Things never go to plan. Also, we tend to think alike when it comes to hiding places.

Demi:  Always have several fresh clones of your dev environment at the ready.

Traycn: How clever players can be in regards to gameplay, collection hunting, and problem-solving.

Phoenix: Players break things that shouldn’t be able to break. LUA is a terrible language. We are capable of doing more than we originally thought. Learned a bunch of ASM/Hex Editing.

Celebrating Five Years of an Empire in Flames

May 4th, 2022 marks five full years of an Empire in Flames! It’s hard to believe it’s been this long, and it’s been an amazing journey so far. Since the ‘doors opened’ on May 4th 2017, EiF has seen a lot of updates, unique content, and new additions that truly make us different than any other SWGEmu server out there. There’s so much that we’ve done over the last five years that it’s almost impossible to list it all, but here’s a brief overview of the major updates that have been released on EiF:

We’re excited to announce that the Mandalorian Enclave content is officially Coming Soon. That’s right, actual soon and not soon(tm). There are still some final tweaks to be made before its ready, but we hope to have it live and available to players in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for more info!
